Duck Pond

Tuesday the kids and I went to the BYU pond south of campus to feed the ducks. There are lots and they were so hungry. It was really fun.


Its amazing how close they got to us. This picture is as close as it looks. I was just squatting down right in its face. Gorden, of course, wasn't so sure about that. At one point when he was pulling off small pieces of bread and throwing them, another duck just came and grabbed the large piece of bread that was in his hand. FREAKED HIM OUT! I had to hold my tongue. It was hilarious. I know he was scared though.

Not only was he scared about how close this duck got but I think he was a little ticked that the duck just grabbed the bread away, like some ungrateful animal! I mean he was doing a good job distributing the bread evenly and most were patiently waiting, but not this one!


So we walked over to a bench and he stood on top and threw bread from there!


Adelaide was her usual fearless self but I love this picture because she was starting to think the ducks were a little too close. You can't really tell but her mouth is wide open. She liked to throw her pieces under this bench and then would laugh when the ducks went under there to get it.

One of the funnest things to us is watching the ducks fly. So we chase them. I actually love it!
