A Wild Tiger and a baby Giyap

Last Saturday it got up to 40°F so we took the beautiful afternoon to go up to Salt Lake to Utah's Hogle Zoo. Gorden loves the zoo! and now so does Adelaide! We're so glad to have a zoo membership this year. It was fun to see the zoo in a different time. The African animals were all inside but we got to see some of them inside. Gorden said that his favorite was the baby Giyap. One of our Girrafes had a baby in late November and it is so cute.
We saw monkeys and apes. All kinds of smaller animals in the buildings, but the best was the Asian Highlands exhibit. Last spring when we went the asian cats (Snow Leopard, Siberian Tiger, Siberian Lynx, Amur Leopard, etc.) were all just laying around in the sun. This time in the snow with it being a little cooler they were all out to play. The Amur Leopard was just pacing back and forth and staring at little kids through the glass. The Siberian Tiger was the best though. He was growling and pacing around, baring his teeth and showing off for everyone. We got a picture of him baring his teeth.

And this video of him growling and marking his territory. Watch out for that Tiger spray!

We didn't even know he sprayed until we got home and watched the video, so Kelly was amazed at the growling, NOT the spraying. But the Tiger was by far the coolest all day. He was so active, and its impossible to see how big he really is. He was huge. Here's my favorite pic of the tiger and a couple more that i liked.

Fun! I'm excited for this summer when Zeke will be more excited to see the animals.
I love Gorden's little BYU hat!
