A Prophet, Seer & Revelator

Here is an interesting story i ran across while i read the news today. It's short & basically says that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints will no longer send North American Missionaries to Russia. Looks like it's because of a political leader with an anti-religion agenda. Anyways, the story wouldn't be all that interesting to me if i hadn't worked at the MTC. You see, for several years now the church has been bringing missionaries from Russia to the MTC in Provo. The vast majority of which we end up sending right back to Russia or some other former bloc country (Ukraine, Georgia, Latvia, Lithuania, Armenia, etc). The interesting thing is that we haven't treated them like other missionaries. We've sent them to Temple Square, to regular sacrament meetings, and around the valley to see the way the Church is organized and how it functions. I think this is such testimony that we have men on the Earth who are authorized and able, who are Prophets, Seers, and Revelators. They didn't have missionaries from high growth areas like the Philippines or Chile come here, they had the missionaries that would later (now) need to lead the Church in their country come. I can't say whether they saw what would happen, but i can tell you that they were inspired to bring missionaries from Russia here to teach them how the church works so that they could be solid leaders in their home country.

That's an interesting article, I would have probably not heard about that for quite some time if you hadn't posted it. We'll be praying for the missionaries over there.
